As a guy, I believe skin care should be as important as anything else. I was in search of product to help improve my skin, and this product is truly great. I bought this product because awhile back I broke out from using Philosophy's Retinoid pads. Turns out the pads have oil, and my skin responded to it horribly. I tend to have smooth skin, with the occasional one or two break outs. Any breakout I have tends to just be small bumps, and not huge red sore pimples, and they go away in a day or so. So for lack of a better word, it was annoying having to do with product related breakouts, breakouts that were red, some what sore, and leaving behind marks. Well I went out to search for a product that would clear the acne, exfoliate my skin, while conditioning it. I've been familiar with Peter Thomas Roth products, for they contain a high percentage of effective ingredients, and this product is no different. Unlike other exfoliating treatments, and acne clearing pads, this product does not contain alcohol. This was a huge bonus, for alcohol can be very drying.
The pads themselves are very soft, and surprisingly very moist when used. One pad can covers one's face, neck, top of hands, as well as elbows. After applying, a slight tingling is felt, but that's because it's working. The directions says to leave on up to 3 minutes, then rinse with water. Since my skin is somewhat tolerant of products, I leave it on a little bit long, sometimes up to 10 minutes, and rinse off with plenty of water. Well this product definitely helped clear up the acne caused from the Philosophy's Retinoid pads, and made my skin clear, and improved the condition of my skin.
The directions say that one can use them up to 2 times a day, but once a day has worked fine for me. Twice a day seems overkill. There are 60 pads, so if one uses them once a day, it'll last roughly 2 months. One reviewer mentioned that they had a bad reaction, that they burned, those with sensitive skin should be careful. These products do contain a high percentage of alpha hydroxy acids, so sensitive skin people beware. Directions do say that those with sensitive skin should only do it a few times a week.
Honestly, one will probably not find another product such as this with such a high amount of effective ingredients, at a reasonable price (for what one is buying) and being alcohol free. Just make sure to follow with a good moisturizer. Another huge bonus, products by Peter Thomas Roth are cruelty free!
Sidenote: I also recommend Peter Thomas Roth's Retinold PM serum. I has a high percentage of retinold (1.5%), and vitamin C and E (both at 1%). The serum sinks into the skin, doesn't cause breakouts, and does make a different in clarity, firmness, and fine lines after continued use.
