(More customer reviews)I am very pleased with the results I obtained from using ScarGuard ScarCare on a year-old, painful, red, raised "keloid" scar that I had from a pair of surgeries. As a result of using this product, the scar is no longer painful, the color has faded to a medium pink, and while I can still feel scar tissue under the surface of the skin, the scar is no longer raised.
Do not expect overnight results with this product. While I did start to see some improvement after a couple of days, it took about 3 months of using this product twice a day to achieve these results. The packaging says that most customers end up using the product for 2-4 months.
Fortunately, the product is so easy to use that there is no problem sticking with it for that long. It just takes a few seconds to brush on the liquid with the applicator that comes with the bottle, and a few more seconds to let the liquid dry into a thin film covering the scar. The film holds up well under normal activity, yet peels off easily and painlessly when you want to apply a new coat.
I used just under half of a 1 oz. bottle to treat my inch-long scar. Those with smaller scars might be able to get away with the half-ounce version of this product.
