(More customer reviews)I have been junking around with various drugstore brands for about a year now and I have run out of everything but cleanser. It seemed like a good time to try something new, so I ordered this kit from Amazon. (Good price, too, about thirty dollars less than the best price found at other reputable retailers.) I was a bit hesitant at first, having never used a glycolic acid product before...there have been reports online from people having burned skin, etc., from trying it. But this kit is for glycolic newbs (if you will) so it seemed like a good place to start.
It really IS a good place to start! The cream wash is only so-so, having a low glycolic % and most of that gets rinsed down the drain anyway. But the Exfoliating Lotion (a thin, runny moisturizer which I use at night), although it does give me red burning skin for about 30 seconds, seems to be doing a good job. This is about 5.8% glycolic if I remember correctly. The "Mini Peel" is the full size that you would get if you bought it separately. This is a 10% and while it tingled a little it did not burn. It is a clear gel that you apply and leave on for 10 minutes, then rinse off. To be truthful I did not feel that this did a better job than my Regenerist microdermabrasion peel kit. I probably won't buy again because of the price difference. Lastly, the day cream. I used this once at night (because I bought the SPF day cream to use for sun protection, which was a separate purchase). This day cream is rich and moisturizing and did not burn. I forget the % in this one but I think it's 10%.
In short, this is making my skin look and feel good, so that I don't feel my money was wasted.
On the other hand, Olay Regenerist stuff gives mostly the same results for less money and more convenience (it's available at my drugstore). However, I've only been using the Glytone for about four days, so perhaps I will see a better long-term result. Regenerist never did much in the long run as an "improvement" but it kept it looking good on a daily basis.
